Misfit Love Day

UPDATE January 2021: We are not planning another Misfit Love Day this year. Instead I am focusing on getting The Lovey Hut up and running [stay tuned] and getting back to our animal therapy elder visits and private farm visits with elders.

CANCELLED
Misfit Love Day 2020
After much thought, we have decided to cancel this year's Misfit Love Day in autumn. We are fact and science people and we do not see anything that gives us confidence that come autumn it will be safe or prudent to have a large crowd here. So for the safety of us, and you, and the animals, Misfit Love Day is cancelled this year.

------

Misfit Love Day is our annual open-farm event and fundraiser for Apifera Farm, a 501[c][3]. We give a forever home to elder/special needs animals, but also share them with elder people. Misfit Love Day is a celebration of the healing powers of animals and a way to share our respect for all elder creatures- be it animal or human. We also work with state neglect cases when possible, and also take in hospice animal cases. We have been doing this since 2004 [originally in Oregon, we moved to mid coast Maine with all our animals in 2016]. This fundraiser helps our 501[c][3] and supports feed, hay, vet care and farm maintenance and helps the community understand our outreach missions bringing animal and elder people together.

The many Misfits that call Apifera home will be wandering about-the kissing llama, pigs, old goats, and Paco the Poet, Pino, Old Matilda and Lucia [the donkeys]. Opie and Ollie might perform, Moose and Goose might...jump on rocks. And of course The Teapot will be there too, and Captain Sparkle.

  • Please DO NOT BRING PETS. We will not allow them on property for safety and respect to our animals.
  • All children must be chaperoned at all times. If not we will have to put them in with Earnest the Pig who will guard over them and we might not give them back.
  • No smoking or gum chewing
  • Open to all, free but this is a fundraiser and we will appreciate your generosity
  • Katherine's illustrated books will be for sale
  • Walkers and wheelchair accessible - contact me though to make sure it will work for your special needs
  • PARKING in front of house, watch signs, overflow parking on roadside
