We call these "sun breaks"

Considering it's St. Lucia Day, a break, no matter how brief, from the heavy rains of the past days is welcome. The donkeys agreed, mud feet and all.

Hello Katherine,
I just finished reading your new book on illustration, and I love it! I also love how donkeys are such a big part of your life and art. Very inspiring to have an animal friend(s) as you do.

Thanks so much for buying my book, and sharing a comment about it! Yes, can you tell I like donkeys? And you are in Minn, I checked out yor blog and the pictures of the storm brought back warm memories- really, those storms bring out creative things.

Oh my donkeys and horses love the little peeks of sun this time of the year. The other day Freddy, our mini donkey, had his head turned to the sky and his eyes closed. So relaxed and happy. Now we have 6 inches of snow! Glad he enjoyed the sunshine while it lasted!

I came here from Carla Sonheim's blog yesterday and fell in love with you, your writing style, and your love of animals. It helps too that I will be doing this thing on Saturday that made me make a stamp of a mule (I know they are different than Donkeys). But I stumbled on you and your site just in time. I will send you a link of mule imagery if you'd like.

Thank you for reading! The farm and my art/writing keep me hopping, so might not respond immediately. Thank you for understanding. ~Katherine & Apifera ~
