I have added more to the ongoing "Homage" series on the main site. The Homage series is my way of paying respect to creatures I find that have died or been killed. It is also a valuable lesson for me, and I hope you, in that we can look at creatures closely in ways we aren't able to when they are out in their living world.
Today we pay homage to a pair of little shrews, and a mole. The mole is incredible creature, huge hands that leave remnants of my field. As aggravated s it is to see mounds of dirt in spring, I can't hep but love them.

I don't know which one I like best? Your sensitive eye in photography gives these little creatures a whole new life beyond. I've always found the mole such a facinating creature, how he can dig up mounds and mounds with no sight. And the shrews simply have a bad rap just with their name, and here they look so sweet. I especially love your sparrow photos - magical and serene at the same time...
Thank you so much Ullam. I agree about the mole- fascinating hands! No wonder they can dig to heaen and back. I am just immersedin these when I take them. There is part of me that wants to put them in sets or something but then I feel I'm somehow dishonoring them a bit- I guess it is the story teller in me that constantly sees characters. But the photos almost become abstract in a way too.

Thank you for reading! The farm and my art/writing keep me hopping, so might not respond immediately. Thank you for understanding. ~Katherine & Apifera ~
